Support for parents anywhere in North Carolina

If you’re a parent, you live in North Carolina, and you have internet access, let’s talk! I use a secure telehealth platform to help parents all over the state wrangle successfully with children’s behavior concerns. Parenting is the hardest job people can have, and there’s no one “right” way to do it.

Leverage your strengths to make parenting joyful:

By working together to locate your own strengths as a parent, and also finding your blind spots, we can find little changes you can make to your approach that will help lighten things up. I use a lot of tools to accomplish this, including a clinical snapshot version of the Adult Attachment Interview. This information helps me better understand how your own parents set the stage for you as a parent. Often, our parenting mimics the parenting we experienced as children, even if we’re trying really hard to do things differently. The AAI can help open up that territory so we can shift things around in a positive way.

I am also heavily influenced by the Theraplay approach to parenting. Theraplay is based on attachment principles, brain development science, and many many years of parenting experience from all over the globe. The basic idea is if we as parents can help our children feel safe and comfortable in our presence, they will thrive. Infusing these ideas into your home can bring about powerful, playful changes. Fees:

$175/hour with some limited ability to offer sliding scale. Some insurance companies might reimburse my fees, we can discuss this.
